TiWi-uB2: certification contingent upon using certain BT/BLE stacks?

Hello!

Is the module certification contingent upon using certain or specific stacks for BLE?

Such as Stonestreet One.

I guess the same question would be applicable to the other LSR modules like the TiWi-R2 or TiWi-5.

Thanks again!

Paul

TiWi-uB2: certification contingent upon using certain BT/BLE stacks?

Hi Paul,

There are two items that fall into the compliance category with any Bluetooth module from LSR.

1) EMC compliance (Modular Certification i.e. FCC/IC/CE). This is stack independent.

2) Bluetooth SIG compliance - every Bluetooth design needs to be qualified and assigned a Qualification Deign ID (QDID). The TiWi-uB2 is qualified with the Stonestreet One Stack. See TiWi-uB2 Wiki Software Section for more details. Note that a different stack may be used, but it would need to be re-qualified with the SIG, and this can cost tens of thousands of dollars.
